Film is the floor. Measurables are the elevator. Scout 2 builds the board with tape first โ if you can't play, elite speed won't save you โ but when elite athleticism confirms what we see on film, players rocket up the board faster than any other scout in the room. The combine isn't a magic wand, but it is a megaphone: it amplifies what the tape already says. Where Scout 1 trusts the film to carry the day, Scout 2 demands the receipts.

Where Scout 2 Diverges Most From Scout 1
The biggest philosophical splits in this mock come down to two words: prove it.
Spencer Fano is the case study. Scout 1 loved the Utah OT enough to place him in the late teens based on elite PFF grades. Scout 2 clocked that 4.91 forty for a tackle and walked away. The technique is real, but when you run like an offensive guard at the combine, Scout 2 grades you like one. Fano dropped entirely out of Round 1 on this board โ the biggest single-player divergence in the class.
Eric Rivers at 16 is the inverse. Scout 1 would never touch a Georgia Tech receiver this early. But Rivers ran a 4.35 forty with a 37.0 vertical and 127 broad jump โ that's Zachariah Branch territory athletically. Scout 2 sees a player who earned his spot, and the Jets ride the combine wave with their second first-round pick.
The QB room looks different here. Ty Simpson at No. 2 is a pure Scout 2 statement pick โ the processing and anticipation show up on tape, but Scout 1 might not love him this high without an elite combine athletic floor. Scout 2 rewards what you see on film AND confirms it's real.
Dillon Thieneman at 26 to Buffalo is purely Scout 2 territory. A safety going best player available late in Round 1 because he ran a 4.35 with a 41.0 vertical? That's the combine elevator running at full speed. Scout 1 won't go there. Scout 2 can't resist.
The film is the floor. The measurables are the ceiling. And in 2026, Scout 2 found a lot of ceilings worth reaching for.
